What’s the secret to creating a thriving group culture out of thin air?
I call it reciprocal risk-taking.
When someone in a group takes a small social risk and others meet it with warmth and engagement, emotional safety begins to form.
Once emotional safety is present, people feel free to express themselves more fully, including joyfully.
So how do you spark reciprocal risk-taking? You intentionally guide interactions that invite it. You also name what’s happening. Explain what a social risk is, and share this line:
Social risks are the building blocks of meaningful relationships.
