🎈Garbage in, Garbage out
The most important thing you can do to protect your mental health as a group facilitator is to ignore the noise.
In the 21st century, noise is everywhere: negative news, fake friends, unreasonable criticism, junk media, endless notifications. It all competes for your attention, and if you’re not intentional, it slowly poisons your mind.
You have to learn how to tune out the junk and actively curate what you let in. Your information diet matters just as much as your food diet. Constant exposure to chaos, outrage, and negativity will shape how you think, feel, and lead.
Be deliberate. Remove consistently negative people from your life. Use communication tools for logistics, not emotional processing. Delete social media apps if they drain you. Dismiss criticism that isn’t grounded or constructive. If you need to stay informed, read the news—don’t watch it.
Garbage in, garbage out. If you want a clearer, calmer, happier brain, start by choosing happier, healthier information to consume.
